Default Lower back pain

Last night i had a rather nasty case of lower back which involved calling out an ambulance and invovled me rolling around in agony (a feeling i never want ever again).

i've been taking Paramol (paracetamol and dihydrocodeine) not keen on taking to many as it says it can lead to addiction if used regularly for a long time.

Are there any physical products that can be worn to help relieve the pain?

any natural remedies?

My work place offers a free service to see physio so ican speak to them but thought i may get some useful info on here.

Hello

The TENS pads / machine that you can get from Boots are okay at temporarily relieving pain.

I take it your muscle went into a spasm around the spine?

I had this once after doing deadlifts in the gym, the next day my back got worse throughout the day until eventually i had to go to hospital and was screaming like a little bitch cos of the pain.

Anyway... they gave me a serpositery (sp?) and a diazipam and half hour later it had gone. Bascially the diazipam relaxes the spasming muscle so it stops

Well experience has taught me that if i post up details they never bother following it up.

But it's very good stuff, i was suffering a while back, it might take a few days to kick in but i find it's good for relaxing any muscle spasms keeping risk of injury to a minimum.

Plus it has other benefits.

ii wasn't really a spasm , i was just sitting down (not in a good posture tbh) felt a twinge, shifted my position then screamed/blubbed like a little girl.
I could have gone to A&E but why waste their time when some tablets would do the trick.
Also for some reason they took my BP and blood sugar levels

I trapped the ciatic (sp??) nerve in my back last week, it was agony. My back kept on spasming & then it eventually locked if that makes senses. I just took tablets that relaxed the muscle & the pain has more or less went.

All my back problems I have suffered over the years have been in the periods of no or little physical activity. I found I cured by re occuring problems by getting back to the gym and start working out again.

Ditto this. Immediate relief with Deep Heat and 500mg ibuprofen, long term prevention by starting with gentle back exercises like pull downs and rowing and building up the intensity over a period of time.

Sorry about the problem, heat pads do help quite a bit.

thank you for your concern Les, funnily enough got one on now.
Went to the doctor and found out that some of my lower vertebrae have slightly twisted away from each other therefore stretching my muscles incorrectly and causing the agony
