"Muslims in spaceeeeeeeeeeeee"
Right then, Malaysia has come up with the world's first comprehensive guidebook for Muslims in space as its first astronaut prepares to go into orbit next week.
The book, entitled Guidelines for Performing Islamic Rites at the International Space Station, teaches the Muslim astronaut how to perform ablutions, determine the location of Mecca when praying, prayer times, and how to fast in space.
Saudi Prince Sultan bin Salman, who was the first Muslim in space, had said that although he managed to pray and fast, he was not able to face towards Mecca and could not fully kneel on the ground.
In light of these facts shouldn't Muslims stay on planet earth then? as it seems that space doesn't allow them to fulfill their religeous obligations.. or does this sort of show that the Muslim religeon in space is somewhat limited

They could make some sort of gyroscope which fits in a backpack or chest harness etc. That way they could get set up facing mecca and stay in exactly the right orientation as long as no other external forces act on them.
For kneeling, a bit of MDF or carbon fibre with a prayer mat bonded to it, and velcro on the knees/ankles/wrists of the suit.
You could even mount the gyroscope mechanism on the board/mat for simplicity, either underneath it or on top just in front of where you kneel.
Btw that's my idea ^^^ if there's money to be made I thought of it first!

they are not going to be good star trekkers if you take them somewhere where there is no sun! Or maybe, they still will adhere to the standard earth solar orbit for prayer times.
In many years to come, hopefully when space travel is the norm, there will be a lot of questions asked about the basis of many of the Earth religions.
