For some reason my wife asked if he had been found. I thought I must have missed a news item but did a check and they are still looking. I know it's rough terrain - bit like needle in haystack stuff - but seems odd that nothing has turned up. He was on a fairly short trip IIRC. Can't imagine that it will be a happy ending. dl

Funnily enough, I specifically went online tonight to check progress on his whereabouts. Unfortunately, I think you're right about the ending which would be a shame as he's certainly led a colourful life.

I am very sorry he has disappeared. I imagine it is too late now to expect him to have survived whatever happened to him.

I have great respect for his achievements, a truly brave man.
