Default Job wanted.......

Having graduated my son got a job and moved to Abingdon. He's been there 3-4 months and sadly the job's not cracked up to what it was meant to be and he desperately wants out and perhaps move back towards home, in N.Kent. Because he's tied in with a rented flat he really needs to get another job before moving and I'm wondering if anyone can help. Briefly, he graduated in Mech. Design Engineering and works with CAD 'stuff' - he's not a mechanic! If there's anyone can help him, or knows anyone who can, perhaps you could pm me and I'll pass on details. He can drive and is willing to move out of his chosen field if needs be. Thanx guys and girls.

Sorry can't help directly. Can we assume that you or your son are plugged into the many on-line agencies? Some are actually quite good. Also that his CV looks the part. Also worth writing to major employers in your patch even if they aren't advertising. Sorry if this sounds obvious but you don't say in your post. Good luck. dl

If hes a cad technician I know someone in Reading who might be able to offer him a contract job in Mechnical and Electrical fittings drafting but its mechanical and electrical fittings for building plans not actual components.

Yes, we have got his name with the agencies but no joy - they're not a great use - they were all pretty useless before finally getting him into his present job

Prodrive are advertising for a CNC engineer and other similar roles, that sort of thing uses CAD and the like doesn't it? They are also based in Banbury which isn't all that far from Abingdon.

prodrive

(I don't work there, I just noticed it the other day).
