Default Finding old/rare hip hop/electro on CD

I'm trying to replace my old collection of vinyl with cds. I'm after really old Hip Hop/electro (Africa Bam, Mantronix etc). I've found a couple of internet sites that seem to have this stuff, just wondering if anybody has used one they can recommend?

Thanks

Why not just rip the vinyl straight to MP3? Might be cheaper and less frustrating than trying to source it on CD

just so i understand deep, have you still got your old skool vinyls etc to hand. if so, couldnt you get hold of a deck/mixer, and record onto your pc hardrive and burn to disc.

im doing something similar re. recording myself mixing dj sets and saving them to pc for personal use/distribution to promoters

ditto, everything these days is about sound quality etc, but you cant beat the crackle from a vinyl just before/after the records stopped playing

I've still got some of the vinyl in varying states of condition, some is lost.

I thought I would lose alot in sound quality by using old vinyl and then compressing it onto MP3. (See my other thread Vinyl may have sounded great at tthe time but now that I'm used to CD I reckon it may not sound so clever.
I've also just replaced my Hi Fi after 15 years and wanted to make the most out of it by feeding it the highest quality source.

U torrent has entire collection of Electro Albums (remember those?) on there, plus lots of Arthur Baker, Mantronix, Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Flash, Bam, etc. Even found some old T La Rock on there, "Breakin Bells", a real trip down memory lane!

As others have said though, tranfer them through your turntable, put your old nike jacket on, roll out some lino and enjoy!

Yeah rip them to mp3 man, definately. I did this with a load of old mix tapes that me and my mates used to make. I love listening to the them back just as they sounded.

Thanks but I'm still quite keen to get the CDs. Some of my records will be in really bad nick (I used to practice scratching with them! ) so I think the sound quality will be poor.
I'll also have to invest in a turntable, and whenever I go to buy anything I spend more than I should ( I shop regularly at C U Cummins )

Rob, I can't find that site, whats the exact address?

Daz, its a Quad CD and Poweramp, still deciding on speakers but they will be full floor standers maybe Focal MJLab, Dali Ikons or B and W
