she still knows she was in the wrong and will have to live with it for the rest of her life,guilt doesnt just go away because a jury says so

The owner wasn't present, and he did get 8 weeks in jail for owning a dangerous breed illegal dog
The blame lay with the grandmother who was babysitting Ellie, and was high on a cocktail of drugs, booze and sleeping tablets and Anti Depressants, and knew that the dog was not allowed in the house whilst Ellie was there, a rule that had been inplace since her brother was born some 12 months earlier

TBH the negative impact on society of that entire family is so much greater than whether granny gets sent down its almost pointless anyway.

Quite, and the only one who paid the price is the poor little girl.
Still, if child molesters can get of with non-custodial sentances then what do you expect. Kids lives and the protection of children seems worth very little these days.

What kind of ******** actually wants a Pit Bull, it isn't a big Staffie like some think, its like 2 or 3 Staffies lashed together with a bad attitude. Then leaves their child with their mother who proceeds to get off her **** on 2 bottles of wine and loads of weed.

True. From what I heard the parents left her there because she wanted to stay with Grannie. BUT, as a parent, would you have left your kid with a half-pissed woman out of her skull on drugs (I don't care what she says about the joints not affecting her - she had had lots that day!) and with a dangerous dog in the garden who was known for attacking people, even if she was your own mum? I know I wouldn't have ....

Local talk here is that Ellie's head was seperated from her body after the attack, although that has never actually been reported in any of the media

A drug dealing fcuked up scumbag and has chavcsum mother by the sounds of things.
And the upshot is a little girl died due to their lack of responsibility and care - what a damn shame for her!
They should have been made an example of IMHO

Apparently Ellie's parents have split up and Ellie's Dad has become a lot closer to Kiel the dog owner
Ellie's Grandmother was also a convicted drug dealer too
