Any one off to the mountain bike world championships this weekend? Were off thursday nice and early and then back home monday. Weather forecast is good and it should be a great event......!

The organisers are begging you to lift share or cycle to the course on a newly created cycle way...from nearby town

Will be on the Isle of Skye this weekend so sadly can't make it, but agree that it should be a great week

For those of us unable to go there is a 2 hour special on BBC2 this afternoon from 2 - 4pm

How many times did the commentator on the downhill say 'he's carrying good speed through there'???
At least once for every competitor and sometimes twice in the same run!

That said, at least they showed it.
They did quite well for their first stab at it. Between that and the Tour of Britain the BBC might be trying to bring cycling to the masses.
Mountain biking is the new sking up here with 'the scene' being much like sking was some years ago.
I would like to have gone but we got married on the Friday and I didn't think she'd be too impressed if I had suggested it. We did however sit down to watch it on TV and she asked why we didn't go!
