Scope of Data Protection Act?
An energy company is pushing my daughter for the contact details of some girls that she shared a house with and owe them some money for an electricity bill (she has paid her share).
Is she obliged to send them the details or can she say that she cannot do this as it would be breaking the DP Act? dl

That's more of less the route we are taking........
The silly girl made the mistake of giving them our home address and they keep sending letters to my house. In fact I phoned them yesterday to try and get to the botton of who owed what but I just got a "Can't give you any information Sir because we are bound by the DP Act". When I pointed out that I was trying to help and objected to letters arriving at my house threating legal action I drew a blank! So it would be nice to throw the Act back in their faces
