N.Yorks have unmarked ones too, along with unmarked Golf GTi's tricked up with 18's and tints, just to keep you off the scent

Hampshire had unmarked Scoobs ten years ago.

Indeed they wrote one of them off - a red one from memory.

Well, bugger me. I have honestly never seen a Scood police car
I took that pic by the Millau bridge and thought it looked great. Thanks all. I will keep my eyes open from now on

Was it as exciting as it looks?

My other half used to service the Skipton Police Scoobs and used to quite enjoy taking them for a test run after

Spotted that a couple of weeks back. I was looking at it as i filled up at Esso on Skippy road in Harrogate and was wondering what the lights behind the grill were for - then i spotted the two geezers in it with flouresent jackets on

I wouldn't say a Scooby police car was cool - either its Police pursuit on a budget or they have chav's working in the purchasing department

General UK Police cars are much cooler - BMW 5-series, Range Rover's, Mercedes etc.

Scoobs are about as cool as a Mondeo.

Uglier, but just as cool

Sussex Police have an unmarker Evo 8 (260), and i'm pretty sure that Surrey Police had a 911 at some point, but i think they crashed that.

Cumbria used to have a couple, now got Evo's but the Scoob was kept on for a while as the Evo's kept having problems.

Best kind of car considering the roads up here.

Scoobies replaced the Cossies they used to have.

Lincs Police have two hawkeyes - The marked up one has leds that look like a roof rack in the rear view mirror (!) and the unmarked gun metal silver one is totally unidentifiable as a Police car until it pulls in front of you and a little sign flips up that says POLICE STOP

There's also a black Evo, a red Octavia V6 and a couple of unmarked BMW 5 series'

My neighbour got stung by an unmarked Octavia a few weeks back, 02:30 in the morning 74 in a 60, he had to tell the cops what road they had pulled him on, they were from Boston and had maybe strayed a little off their patch??

Ive seen a marked up Blobeye knocking around Nettleham HQ but will keep eyes peeled for the unmarked ones now.
Cheers
AC

Infact Essex has 2 x EVOs and 2 x Impreza STis now. Tough job, but some one has to drive them !!

84of300 - Think Essex ones look better than the French IMO.

Full article coming to the SIDC magazine 'True Grip' soon .
