Default Shuttle Endevour launches in 3.5 hours.

Live on nasa tv if you want to watch drunk astronauts and school teachers try and escape gravity!

I saw Artlantis go up in June. As someone who is used to loud noise, I used to take my daughter to Heathrow at weekends to watch Concorde, this thing was on another planet.

We were about 5 miles away, across the Banana River, and small children were screaming, and the ground was shaking.

Anyone who gets the chance, see it. there only a dozen or so shuttle launched left.

It did take us 6 hours to drive back to Orlando though (65 miles )

I don't think I will get the chance to go over for at least a year. Maybe I will have to wait for the replacement shuttle to arrive (they will have to make something)

If you've got a scanner you should be able to listen in to the mission commander talking to NASA on 259.700 about 15 - 20 mins after launch

The closest I got to seeing a launch was Columbia back in 1996 when I was over in Orlando. Got to see her on the pad (obviously not too close though). I really should get my **** over there again as I'm a tad closer to Orlando these days.

Has anyone else got a total lack of sound on that feed? gonna be a bit pointless without the noise.

Imagine brewing a fart for hours, and letting a Silent But Deadly one go

Digital Quality for me?

What's your connection speed / ram / video card / display screen ?

If it's ****e - just record in on sky + and feed it thru your surround sound system

As for getting their Hatch shut, they should do what I said in muppets...

Get them some training from the US Navy. Stick them on a sub, yell "dive" and then watch how much faster they manage to do it
