Default Keeping marble clean ?

Just purchased a marble table for the dining room, when talking to the guy he said that red wine can stain, as my missus is partial to a bottle or three what would if it spilled be the best way to keep it clean ?

Cheers

Used to have marble work tops... there is a compound similar to a wax you can get which stops the surface being porous... cant remember name tho... I found it by googling it

depends what marble it is as well. Indian marble is non porous so won't stain anyway but i think that is the only one. Wax seal is probably the best bet

Surely if you can afford a marble dining table, then you can employ someone to be "table warden".

Soapy water on a sponge (Washing up liquid) then wipe dry with a dry towel/cloth. No point spending money on fancy products.

Depends if the marble is sealed (shiny) or not (matt). Either case use car wax to protect it (note: WAX, not polish...use the polish to remove any scratches on sealed marble ).

Avoid using silicone type household polishes on unsealed marble (Mr Sheen, Pledge etc), just use soapy water to clean it. Always rewax after cleaning.

I said that sarasquares shouldn't be cleaning marble in her condition (as she has a slipped disk), and received an infraction for it?
