AMSTERDAM - recommend bars & decent hotel
First trip to Amsterdam coming up.
Need a cheapish clean friendly hotel for the night, ideally with parking and in a good location to see the local sites.
Also, any memorable bars in the area would be handy!
Just spending a day there prior to heading onto The Ring

I havent been for some time so cant help on the hotel,
from what i can remember
all the clubs where good and the bars too ( goa ) never have seen any bad trouble or had a bad time. be careful of the cakes

You mean the 'DAMPKRING' and AK47 is available in most places. That said 'DE DAMPRKRING' is one of the better coffee shops for tourists.
