Default Overweight kids.

Its seems that this can now be seen as child abuse if parents ignore the warnings and help offered when their kids are diagnosed as obease

BBC NEWS | Health | Child obesity 'a form of neglect'

But if you can get charged for over feeding a pet, then surley this is correct.

bad parents, ban em from having kids.

i remember seeing parents giving kids bags of chips through the fence when chips were banned in school, like they were banning the to be nasty to the kids.

relay shouldn't have kids if you can't be responsible for them, and that includes there eating healthily

Maybe couples should be tested to see if they are suitable to be parents in the first place.

The hoops that couples have to jump through to adopt are quite massive.

I have often said there should be a reproductive licensing system. Potential parents have to pass a series of tests before receiving a license:
1/ Do you have a job?
2/ They must read, understand and sign a charter re the social and moral responsibilities under which they will bring up their spawn. With breaches resulting in heavy fines and prison for persistent offenders.
3/ Do they have adequate finances / support networks to look after the child (as opposed to leaving toddlers on their own while the parents go off to a pub).
That kind of thing...

If a child is born without license, it is passed over for adoption to loving but baron parents who have already passed the licensing requirements...

As for obese kids - it is neglect/abuse (unless scientific medical evidence can be provided in weird cases) and as such guity parents should be punished...

Vote for me!

I think one of the problems is basic cooking skills are not passed down the generations like they used to be, people do not know how to prepare good healthy meals and therfore seem to find it easier to shove some chips out of the freezer into the oven!

When my daughter gets back from uni and eats us out of house and home (having not eaten properly for some months) I shall be delighted to ban her from the kitchen on the grounds that she might be taken into care

Check out this article

BBC NEWS | Health | Kacey's weight went off the scale

I'm particularly impressed with this part:

"The turning point came when Kacey was two.

Her parents decided they had to control what she was eating much more closely. "

No - really? After subjecting the poor girl to countless medical tests they finally realised that controling what she ate made a difference? Well **** me! I bet no one else has ever thought of that.....

If you have children then you are legally and morally responsible for bringing them up correctly and guarding their health in all respects.

Every time I see an extremely obese couple. If they have a child, surprise surprise, their kids a little fat B*stard too.

Parents pile their plates up, then pile their kids plate up too.

allowing your child to get that fat is child cruelty. Sadly it is the case in schools that the 'fat kid' gets picked on and bullied. If as a parent you have allowed this to happen you may as well be bullying the child yourself. You have in my opinion deliberately put you child in a position to be picked on and for that reason alone it is child abuse.

I wonder how fat you have to be to get picked on these days? I was called 'fat' at school, but by todays standards I am positively waif like.
