Is there a doctor on duty ??
Had a blood test last week at my local surgery and was advised to phone back this friday for the results and that if anything untoward was detected then they would obviously phone me first, received a phone call today to advise that the blood test had come back and that I was advised to make an appointment to see my doctor.
the only thing the receptionist could say was that the results had come back raised and that my doctor would explain more, was too late to speak to my GP just wonder if anyone here knows what the term raised bloods actually means ?? obviously slightly concerned but guess will just have to waitt and see whats what tomorrow afternoon !!
anyone enlighten mean any further regards this raised bloods term or does it maybe just mean that the result had been flagged as requiring further investigation ??

It could be anything, raised cholesterol, raised liver enzyme counts, white blood cells etc.
Usually just means further tests to find the cause, or repeat tests to make sure it was not an anomaly.

The good news is you have at least 24 hours to live
The bad news is that they forgot to tell you yesterday
As said probably raised cholestrol or similar. Liver function if you are a boozer or sugar levels if you are old. Relax - they have to find something!
Or you could be pregnant........

Without knowing more about why you were referred for the blood test/your symptoms, it's very difficult to comment. Being asked to return to the surgery is no cause for alarm though: could be something as simple as mono....er, Gladular fever!

Could be all number of things, depending on what they tested for.
When I had the "please come and see us to get results", it was raised bilirubin levels (part of liver function), caused by a gallstone stuck in the bile duct. A few tests later, they identified the problem, a few months after that, the gallbladder was out, just now trying to lose the few remaining stones . . . . Very unlikely that's what you've got (although it was very unlikely for me as I don't fit any of the high risk groups!), but they thought I was up at the more "serious" end of the spectrum for coming back in. Whilst it hasn't all been fun, it really hasn't been something someone should worry about.

I recall the advice given to our PSE class on sexual health when I was at school.
Teacher: " Remember lads, a fish supper's nice covered in daddies sauce, but remember, keep the safety catch on, or aim high!"
Pupils: "Sir, what are you talking about?"
Teacher: "When you actually get to **** a bird, use a condom or give her a pearl necklace"
Pupils: " A pearl neck...."
Teacher: " *** on her **** you divs!!!!"
