Question Any Decent RC/Tamiya stockists In North, North West London

I used to use the Harrow model shop which was different grade for spares and bits and bobs.

After reading a thread on here recently about RC cars I decided to get mine out after 5 years sitting in a box under the bed, I need a couple of small parts to get it going again but dont have the part numbers, so I wanted to take it in to a shop and say have you got these?? Harrow MS was perfect for that but sadly its no more.

Doing the obligatory Google searches but thought I'd ask on here as well, anywhere between Finchley and Heathrow would be good.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Cheers

To be honest Ebay is pretty good for obscure bits, failing that Modelsport.co.uk, I wouldnt worry about it being local to you unless you have a particular urge to spend time in a model shop.

Whats the model?

As said Ebay, Modelsport or Apexmodels would be my first stops

It's a Classic Impreza WRC circa 2002 TL-01

One of the lads at work was test driving it around our nice polished concrete floor in the ware house and managed to ram a pallet at top speed snapping part of the chassis where the fron upright screws in, I have managed to glue that back but im missing the from left gearbox joint and a screw that fastens the front upright to the chassis.

I had lost the construction manual but have managed to download a Jap version which has the part numbers so hopefully I can get these on line and get it going again, and I certainly wont be letting the warehouse lads have a go again.

A quick question re the radio controls, I work about a mile from the end of the runway at Heathrow and the planes come directly over our heads just as they are about to clear the M25, so pretty low, would the RC signal cause a problem with the airliners, I doubt very much if it does but I'd hate to bring one down !

My in laws live under the approach for Manchester, I was operating my Dark Impact which just stopped and I noticed that a 777 was listing at quite and angle, I just happened to nudge my steering and it started to level , I had full control, I throttle back the engines but had to abort the approach and do a go around as the Futaba attack does not have a button for the landing gear or a rudder control, So I ascended to 8,000 feet and put the plane back onto its normal approach at the correct spot in the glide slope and turned the controller off which gave the pilot back full control, he gave me a thumbs up and landed the aircraft safely. Boeing should really consider this when designing an aircraft...

Sorry, sarcastic **** but I couldnt resist.

Also try Moor Models in Croxley Green - right outside Croxley green station on the Met line.

I get most of my parts on ebay - the gearbox part will be on a tree with other bits for a few quid, it's usually better to get a non running chassis so you'll have some spares
