Auto Express- biased?
Car polish | Products | Auto Express
Reading their review/test of Car Polishes, they always go for Turtle Wax products. Is this purely based on them getting a back hander from them or is fact?
What's your views? BTW they have tested 50 products, so there is a wide range.

They've always liked that Turtle Wax Gloss Protection stuff.
Cannot believe they've awarded Meguiar’s Gold Class only 2 stars. I've been using Meguiars for 4 or 5 years now and am more than happy.

"car pride fst wax" is about the same for less money
i used to use meguiars gold class here at work for the half decent cars in dark colours, and NXT for the lighter coloured ones.
gold class has been a bit of a pain for us with smearing but does look quite nice when finished, durability is crap, 2/3weeks max IMO
"car pride fst wax" is about the same effort, same`ish shine for a lot less money (i picked up 10 tins @75p in the local cash and carry)
durability is much better, a few months at least!
the problem is that meguires stuff is made for people who want to buff the car every weekend, so it never lasts very long IMO
have to say, since i trialled the FST stuff here at work on afew customers cars, they could notice the difference, and i started useing it on my own, with much improved results.
it can be a PITA to get off dark coloured cars in direct sunlight, but a damp microfibre cloth works wonders............

ps, it's only a capfull though....you didn't mention that this Car Pride stuff is about a 1/3 of the size of a normal bottle of wax.
Don't agree about the durability of the Gold Class, only 2/3 weeks!!...no way

the car pride tin is the same size as my nxt tin ?
just checked, FST stuff is 180gram tin size, maybe a tiny bit smaller ?
the main point is IMO.
paying big bucks for a named brand is sometimes a bit pointless, from my vast experience of using different waxes and polishes over the years

are you from the north east?
*makes a note of yet another northern username he should avoid getting into arguments with* pmsl
gold class just never lasted for me, unless i topped it with nxt over the top, the way i looked at it, its not designed to last, its the weekend bufftys choice, which sells due to good advertisements.
i had a good chat with one of my suppliers once about megs stuff, this bloke has people making his own polishes up to sell to the trade and he let me into a few little secrets
the "chemical resistant" spray heads that megs sell as there own are not
they are just generic spray heads with a bit of cash slapped on the price, i cant remember the specifics but the supplier could get me them for vastly reduced prices if i wanted.
