Thumbs up Hired a 360 today

Yep, a Ferarri 360 f1 modena for a few hours. What a car. It was fitted with a Tubi exhaust so the sound was awesome. Paddle shift took a little getting used to but once familiar with it gear changes could be made smoothly even under fast acceleration.

Took it out on roads around Silverstone where there are some good open stretches where the car can be really opened up.

Cost was quite reasonable as well. Kids had an hour each in it and loved every second.

Only trouble now is I really really want one myself

I grabbed a chance to drive my company sales directors 360 one night. He didn't seem to mind my giving it some either I still don't know how fast I went but I remember seeing 8.5k revs in 5th on a dual carriageway. Had to lift for the approaching roundabout where we were to turn left, but that simply wasn't gonna happen so straight on it was

Know how you feel - I had a Ferrari F430 Spider a few weeks ago for a day - and the sound at 3k rpm was just awessome....
I remember geting into it and flooring it in 1st and near the top end of the revs i could just feel it fish tail - i almost s*** myself...! Thought of it as a reminder of how dangerous it can be so then treated it with a bit more respect..... Ohhh it was a lovely experience...

Quick search suggests £665 upwards.
Ferrari Hire and Supercar Hire, Ferrari Hire Deals

I'd imagine the insurance excess is huge though, so best just park it in the drive for the 8 hours!

Every drive feels like an occasion still where as that feeling generally wheres off after a day or two whenever i've had a Ferrari for a few days.

My main memory of MR2 Turbos is a mate nicking one from his Dads sales fourcourt every weekend/late night and fiddling the CCTV recordings so his dad never noticed....until he caught him in the act and beat him black and blue
lol haha class mate, he must have felt like a real muppet a very nice car mate indeed, i had a mach 1 mr2 when i woz 17 not the turbo version, it woz lurvley

gt3 is awesome a pity aboot the price mate, see im a wholesaler for evo tuning parts , i know i can build an evo that will spank it half the price, thats why i wont buy one, unless it woz cheap

gt3 is one of the best ever cars made, just superb

The F430 cost me £1400 for the day - dont forget prices on most websites DONT include VAT / Delivery (in most cases) as there is a limit on the mileage you can do - Normally max is 100 miles a day... Mine was supplied form a Co in London and they delivered it Sat 9:00 am and collected 7:00 pm

I was cynically referring to the 'mach 1 or 2' comment moses....

...anyway, apparently even at much lower speeds than mach 1, they're death traps!

they sure r mate my mach 1 woz very bad if the roads were wet or slippery, too light in the back

i had tae turn the back wheels in a lil sorting the alignment oot alot of tyre wear but only way tae prevent the back coming oot so fast, it woz hard tae dae, the lad had tae make a wee bracket tae help toe it in

You can get someone older to hire the car but get it insured for drivers over 25 like i did - was hired on my brothers name (over 30) and paid £50 to get me insured to drive it also.....

Damn you, I sold mine 3 years ago yesterday still in mourning....

The F1 box is great when you get used to it! Especially in sport mode although they do eat the clutches...
Flooring it from about 3k in 2nd through tunnels used to make your spine tingle

Prices are really getting lower now, 2000 RHDs for ~50-55k.

Insurance not that bad, I paid £1000 and was 31 at the time. Only had it 6 months though... Just a mad (few) moments. Happy days.
