I have a "cobbled together" headset.

Sennheiser headphones. Microphone from some mono headset/mic I found somewhere. Microhone boom cabletied to the headphones. Stop laughing -it actually works very well I still have full adjustability of the boom. and you cant really see the cable ties...

Use Caps Lock for speech.

deano,

your cobbled together sounds ok from your sitting then??

steve, yours works so well i can tell what your regional accent is! doesn't it affect pings tho transmitting aditional data??

i have a mic but cannot get my crappy Sound Blaster 16 pci to record using the mic - even with sound recorder. so i gave up - good for my typing skills tho - i can type "the ******* in the left window" in about 1/2 sec

I've got a gamevoice one.

Worked fine till I upgraded from my on board sound card to a Hercules MuseXL now voice only works once then it f&cks up.

Oh, and yes I have disabled the on board card and run through the mic config etc

I have a Labtec one - about £30 from PC World.

Includes a volume control (ear-pieces ) & a mute switch.

So if you ever see me running around with the microphone over my head & no noise - say "Mute Switch" at me

Very comfortable on the ears & if I remember, I'll tell you the model #. Any comments as to performance? Audio is v.good & I can often hear people long before they see me, even if I'm hooning around at the time too.
