Default Contact Lenses

Does anybody buy these via the internet?

I have a local optician which charges me £12.75 a month, for this i get free "hydron actifresh 400" lenses and a free yearly eye exam/consultation

in the 5 or so years i have been wearing lenses my eyes have not changed one tiny bit, still the same lens spec as the first week, one eye did change very slightly but then the next examination told me it was back the way it was.

i can buy these lenses in bulk from the net and pretty much half my costs, although i then don't get the free eye exam.

what i should be doing is putting the cash away to save up for the eye laser treatment and be done with it (approx 5 years contact lenses is over 3k)

what would you do?

I fancy the laser treatment but gonna wait a year or so for it. I buy my contacts from Cyprus now, half the price of the ones over here for the exact same lenses, and the guy sends me them for free £30 roughly for 3months supply!

Gonna do some research into the laser treatment tho

i have just found my lenses for (i think) £20 for 3 months supply

i have researched the laser treatment far to many times
i just never put the cash to one site to pay for it, and the idea that i cant get them both done in the same day bothers me a bit (ie 2 trips and all that carry on)

i had some pencil lead in my eye as a kid and it hurt when i scratched the eyeball, so this laser malarkey does not appeal THAT much, its just to save money in the long run

ASDA Contact Lenses

I use ASDA for my contact lenses found them to be much cheaper than most other places. I was paying £25 a month for extended wear ones, £13 from ASDA if you buy 6 months supply

I'd steer clear of the laser surgery. It's pushed by many optometrists and private clinics, but if you talk to an opthalmologist (proper eye specialist) they are not so enthusiastic.

I wear CIBA Vision Focus dailies, £120 per year from Thailand or Hong Kong.

We are totally ripped off over here.

Haven't gone for it myself as I don't know what long term effect it has on the eyes (well, apart from the fact you can see better !).

What have you heard Wellington ?
