Default Work pay for eyecare?....

I am a Graphic Designer and have been suffering from headaches constantly for a while now, after having an eye test this week, i have been told i am lonsighted and need reading glasses. My headaches should stop i am told if i wear them.

I have been told today that work should pay for the eyetest and lenses under some kind of health and safety law. Does anyone know if this is true, if so can you guide me to the information???

Why should they? You chose the career.

My company pays for your eye test and something like up to £60 towards glasses. I believe thats limited to one payment per year. I think this is pretty standard. Oh and you must work with a VDU to qualify (obviously you do but I thought Id mention it).

I work for TNT. As i use a VDU i qualify for a free eye test and £80 towards glasses. I'm not sure if its laid down in law,but i'd say any decent firm should give you a free eye test.

You don't need to work with a VDU to qualify for an eye test, your job involves a significant amount of concentration and a risk assessment should of been performed with regard to ambient light levels and duration of concentration required.

Your ongoing health should also be monitored/screened, as in eye tests

I informed my boss that he should be paying for my eye tests as I work on a PC all day.

He told me to P155 off.
