Default Environmentally friendly conspiracy

Just got back from China and I just thought I would share something.

The Chinese are polluting on a biblical scaleI have never seen so much industrial pollution ever what is the point in using recycled loo roll and driving a Prius(wankermobile) when there are 1.1 billion Chinese doing their best to pump out noxious chemicals into the atmosphere.

I had no idea there were so many different colors of smoke there was this copper works and it was pumping out bright green smoke and everyone in the town was wearing masks.

Is climate controla pseudo-name for population control???? What a load of crap!!

I believe if we went back to poluting to the pre-industrial levels it would take less than a month for China to have made up the difference in pollution.

Their argument is that we got rich off cheap energy sources, so why shouldn't they?

If the West wanted to control China it could easily and without rhetoric, simply by restraining trade. Unfortunately our (government's...) desire for cheap clothing and novelty rubber dog **** outweighs our political committment to saving the planet.

Still, we can always tax fuel more; how about a carbon passport as a solution?

I think (from memory) that pollution wise, China produces in six weeks what the UK produces in a year.

Yet we get battered, they get encouraged.

Prosperity is a race and the west has a big head start on 3rd world and China.

Controlling polution costs money and using environmentally ethical sources of energy costs money. (Can't believe I wrote environmentally ethical )

Digging something up or cutting it down and burning it is something man has been doing since the stone age and the technology to do it on an industrial scale has been helpfully designed, built and improved by "the west" during our industrial revolutions etc. It's cheap to do it and the technology isn't advanced.

Make solar, wind or chicken sh*t power cheap, easy to deploy, access and use and the problem can be reduced or removed.
