Default ebay emails

i see the fraudsters are getting better at getting details, i just recieved an email from ebay and it looked as though it was from an auction, it was someone stating they had bought a bike from me and they havent recieved it !!1 well out of curiousty i wanted to see what this bike was and if my ebay account had been hacked ?? but it appears my anti virus/hacker software blocked me from doing it so they must be using this way to steal peoples login details !!! if you have a good rating you dont want to loose be carefull

I had one the other day confirming the despatch of an item I had recently bought on eBay. Foolishly (normally I wouldn't) I clicked on the link at which point I realised from the URL it wasn't eBay.

If you open the fake page but don't put login details in, then I'd still change my password on Ebay anyway. I had this on email, opened the page to see it but didn't login. A few days later my account was hacked even though I didn't input anything.

I did change my password. I've had 2 hack attempts in recent weeks resulting in me having to reset my password. Haven't actually lost control of my account yet.

I ignore any emails from ebay or Paypal, regardless of whether they are real or not.

* Dear KiwiGTI,
Please note that someone is trying to send you £4000.00 for the successful sale of item no. 563356889 (the collection of valuable "adult" magazines).

Please log into your eBay account to collect this money.

Regards

The eBay Team

P.S This is a real email, not phishing or spam.

I got one the other day saying I didn't win an item that I'd supposedly bid on. It was very clever, it was even an item I'd bought previously! I am not sure if I clicked the link or not, but I have reset my password regardless.

Ebay would never contact you via email, they'd only message you through their internal messaging system (in 'my ebay' screen).

Paypal would contact you via email BUT they ask you to get in touch with them by logging in and choosing a communication method, they don't put links on their emails.

Never ever open any emails from paypal or ebay with links in them

Yeah, they're general adverts not for account information.
