Hi,

The software I use to convert CD's to MP3 takes in excess of an hour to convert one CD at 128kBit/sec on my (usually pretty fast) P3 800 with 256Mb RAM.

Seems a bit excessive to me, anyone know of good MP3 progs I can try out that might be a bit speedier?

For ripping EAC (Exact Audio Copy IIRC) and lame for converting to mp3. Takes about 30 minutes on my Duron 800. Search on www.google.co.uk for downloads.

I use Adaptec Easy CDDA. Takes me about 10 mins for a cd. Thats on my slow computer... only a dual P3 1G.

Use CDex, rips and compresses at the same time. Takes about 20mins to do a cd, you can find it on http://www.downloads.comNone of this faffing about with ripper and an compressor.
