Foreign currency exchange... Bank or Airport??
Is there much difference in changing GBP into some foreign currency at the local bank here in the UK, compared to the airport in the foreign country.
UK GBP into Bangkok Baht FYI. if it makes a difference.

Always change in Thailand, the rates are much better.
Also if I'm not mistaken the rates can be quite good in some airports due to the fact that there are sometimes regulations preventing charging of commission etc.

Since I try to avoid high street shopping at all costs, getting foreign money at a bank usually means me having to go out of my way to do it. Sod that, airport for me. The rates are usually quite competitive anyway.
Thailand or UK airport? No idea

I actually work for a bank and the Branch in the building sends us to the Travelex in the main station if we need foreign banknotes
Which is why I use ATMs abroad (and don't get charged).
