Why Don't i-PODS Come With AC Chargers?
Another reason why I HATE the foookin things!! 
Why can every other manufacturer include a nice mains charger in the pack - but APPLE make you buy one as an option!!

So you can be fleeced a little further. Simple.
The Creative Zen MP3 player is the same - charging from the USB port rather than mains.
I guess when you think about it, a large portion of the weight and size of the package would be the charger - by charging from the USB cable which you need anyway, they can cut down packaging and transportation costs.
Or am I reading too much into it.....?

Got a 40bg ipod photo. Came with charger.
Not sure about nano/minis. They hardly take long to charge via PC and the nature of small capacity mp3 players is that they'll be plugged into PC a lot.

I have an iPod NANO. The fact it doesnt have a mains charger doesnt really bother me at all. What does bother me about it is that the feckin touch pad doesnt light up!

My 5th gen 60gb video ipod did not come with an ac charger, but I bought one when I got my mini one and it is the same luckily

Thanks for pointing that out Pete - just bought my missus one for Christmas (it hasn't arrived yet) and didn't realise there was no charger!
What USB port does it have? Full or mini? I might be able to give her my smartphone charger to use

My original 60Gb iPod photo came with a mains charger. My new iPod video didn't. No big deal as I tend to charge it from my Mac (or HiFi docking station). If you really want a mains charge you can get one for a fiver on ebay!
