Switzerland?

Long shot, but is anyone a font of knowledge on Switzerland?
Planning a trip to the snow (more apres-ski than ski-ing ) and having to travel by train so Switzerland seems the obvious choice. Any recommendations on where to go for some winter revelry in the snow?? or any decent sites/companies/numbers of someone who could organize the trip or provide travel info etc??

Not sure about Switzerland but St Anton in Austria is reachable by train and is very good for ski and apres ski. I believe you can also take you car by train to the resort.
Cheers

Thanks guys - useful suggestions.
Zermatt looks about the best bet, pleanty to do, accessible and only about 4 hours from Paris by TGV although I am tempted by the Gstaad Palace Hotel.
One things I have noticed is how much more web-friendly Switzerland is. Every resort/town has its own website. www.zermatt.ch www.gstaad.ch www.grindelwald.ch
Thanks again.

GaryC,
Go to DAVOS, AROSA or FLIMS/LAAX!!!!
Very good for Aprés-Ski and huge ski resorts.
Zermatt is very beautiful and you would see the most famous mountain in the world (hmm..)(eventhough no cars allowed, you would need to park your car outside the town in one of those big parkinglots, especially made for this!)
Verbier, Gstaad, St. Moritz is way too expensive, unless you want to hunt down some fur wearing chicks!!
Maybe you will meet Prinz Charles in Davos (Klosters)!!! he,he,he
Cheers,
Daniel

Have looked at Arosa - recommended the Tschuggen Grand Hotel?? But Arosa/Klosters/Davos etc are all a bit isolated when travelling from England by train
And have met Prince Charles before - his potential presence would be reason enough to avoid the area!

I'm going to saas-fee over Xmas, it's looking good at the moment. I've never been before, but colleagues who have been to switzerland lots in summer say the rail system is excellent. http://www.saas-fee.ch/

Grindlewald and Wengen are excellent if you want traditional swiss resorts. Rail links from interlaken are good.
Saas-fee - fantastic resort as is Villars.
Avoid Crans Montana - poor skiing and south facing slopes, thus skiing in putty at the end of the day.
Adelboden is good and not many english know the resort so another good reason to go.
Zermatt can be a nightmare to get up onto the slopes in the morning but you have the advantage of skiing over to Cervinia (Italy).
Try www.rail.ch for swiss rail timetables.

Thanks to all again - however we have had a change of heart. The rail travel was going to cost over £300 each add in £200-300 per night for a decent hotel meant that 6 nights would cost over £2000 it just made it not worth it, especially as it was near enough a full days travel to get there
So..... SCOTLAND here we come...

How about a change of heart and go for Austria.
I've just paid £0.04 return (plus tax) for two return flights stansted to salzburg - bargain at £51.50 all in ! with Ryanair

@ Blackstar,
Yes.. isn't it sad, maybe he will come next year!! (Or maybe he's afraid of the BIG MOUNTAINS!!)
@ Gary C,
Why don't we switch places, you could live in my apartment and I will live in yours for a week??? (this of course only applies if you live next to a scoob tuning company!!)
Cheers
Danny
PS: Try Austria,... cheaper and more friendly (in my opinion)!

Problem is that my wife can't fly at the moment (medical things ) so train would be the only option - thats the ****! When we thought we could fly, I had booked 10 days in the Maldives - ultimate R&R
But don't worry Swiss...I'll be back
