'nearly 300 Sutton teachers are being anonymously rated by their pupils on a popular website - a practice branded "distressing" by education chiefs'
'The site encourages parents to add to the pull-no-punches views of their children'

my old school is there but not many teachers being rated. There were four on that taught me over 15 years ago. Totally disagree with one of the reviews...unless my year tipped him over the edge - definitely the best teacher (but not in a looks/fashion sense!!)

What a disgrace that this site has appeared. It serves no purpose whatsoever. How on earth are students supposed to know how good a teacher is? All I can see is the good looking ones that are easy going and nice will get good reviews. The slightly quirky teachers that are nerdy and love their subject will probably get bad reviews along with the teachers that teach well with strong discipline.

Working in Education, whilst I'm not entirely sure about the motives behind the site, I say "bring it on"...... OFSTED rate and assess the establishment's performance every year (or it seems like it!), but as a member of the teaching staff, you only know in yourself how well you do - they don't tell you how well you personally did.
If it leads to a rating system, I'd be well up for it...... Judging by my results and successes, I've got a pretty good idea how I would perform

Theres a lot in what Kiwi posted, what we really need is more discipline and respect from them. Society cannot exist successfully with today's attitudes in that respect.
