Default Nokia 6230i unlocking problem

Can anyone help

I need to unlock my old Nokia 6230i on T Mobile so it can be used on vodafone

I have searched on google and downloaded a DCT4 calculator to generate the code from the imei.

However when I enter the code nothing happens. There was no wrong code message or anything. The code i type in just stays on the screen.

Not sure if i am doing something but none of the websites I have found seem to be able to help.

Any one able to help?

Rob

6230s either work via code or they don't.
My old one that was stolen did, the replacement did not (exactly same as you- nothing happened when putting the code in)

Had to take mine into a shop and they did it via cable.
Most will charge you a tenner or so for this.
No other option I am afraid.

As above, you get 5 attempts to unlock by code, then its down to having to use a trusty box

Try it with a sim in, anything other than T mobile.

Thanks for the replies so far

I thought the 5 attempts rule was when you got the "wrong code" message ?

I'm not getting any response from the code, it just stays on the screen until i press clear.

Will have to try one of the shops that offer the unlock service unless any one else has a suggestion

Cheers Rob

thats exactly what my second one did. No sim, correct code and it did nothing- just stayed on screen.
Was assured that it had to be done via cable. as it was a later model or something.

Are you typing in #pw+ before entering the code?

ie #pw+813041136162350+7# or just entering a long number?

Probably software then as already said, although T-mobile have three different network codes which will generate different unlock codes.

I was going to send my 6280 to fonefunshop for flashing but then found everything I needed and updated to software v05.92 myself and cleared all the Three network stuff off it too.
