Rechargeable Batteries - replacement?
The AA batteries in my chordless headphones aren't what they used to be and need replacement.
I've plenty of AA 1300mAH rechargeables already, but the 'phones use 600 mHA.
So, the question is if I use 1300mAH in them instead of 600 what would be the likely outcome. Would they still work ok or will doubleing ampage melt them?

The mAH value is a way of saying how much the battery can hold - so the bigger the number, the more it holds and hence the longer it should last.

Just make sure you buy NiMH and not NiCD.
The latter develop a 'memory' that significantly reduces their capacity if you recharge them before they are fully discharged. The former do not have this problem

Basically, the 1300mAH means the batteries will allow a current of 1300mA to be pulled from them for about an hour, or 650mA for 2ish hours, meaning they will last around twice as long on a full charge as the original spec.

They are NiCad but I never swop them before they get fully discharged so will hopefully be OK for some time to come.
