resize mp3..
I have an audio book thats 25 hrs long, 350Mb, and is at 32 kbps...
my car wont play MP3, and that sounds like an awful lot of CD's to burn....
any ideas how I can make it smaller?

Err, if you are converting it to 'audio CD', then the amount you can fit on a CD is measured in minutes (80mins of something).
If so, what difference will it make making the mp3 file size smaller?
(Or am I completely missing something?!)

If the car stereo played MP3 there would be no problem - a 350MB file is only half a disc.
Since it doesn't, you'll need 25 hours' worth of CDs (ie. about 20 discs), plus software to chop the MP3s into 74 or 80 minute chunks. You'd probably better make sure your burning software puts track markers in every 5 mins or so, otherwise you'll have a hard time finding your place every time you stop.
If it were me, I'd get a couple of CD-RW discs, chop up the file into 74 min chunks and burn just a couple at a time, re-using each disc when I'd finished listening to it.
You could always get a separate MP3 player and a portable FM transmitter thing, of course...

The ideal solution would be if your stereo had a line-in socket. Even if it doesn't, you can sometimes get adapters which convert the multichanger input into line-in.
512MB mp3 players are dirt cheap these days.

The easiest solution is going to be to buy a cheap 512MB MP3 player. I bet that youll agree with me before youve written half of the discs that youll need...
