Electric cars don't emit any CO2 at all
This was stated on Channel 4 News just now, talking about how Richmond parking charges will be based on 'pollution' aka CO2 emissions.
Um, so where does the electricity come from ?

Nuclear? Oh no, the greenies don't like that......
Wind Turbines? Nope, eyesore on the landscape etc.....
Coal and gas obviously out.........
Perhaps Richmond have there own secret power stations running on thin air???

Uk electricity average is 0.43 kg CO2 per kW - anyone know what these things need to travel a kilometer?
Your scoob probabaly does 200 - 300 g CO2 per km therefore if it needs 0.75 kWh or more your scoob is cleaner
Surely we can prove that electric is worse than scoob?

I *think*, and correct me if I'm wrong, the electricity comes from Yorkshire.
So the CO2 causes global warming in Yorkshire, where it is needed. Meanwhile Richmond is saved from the rising oceans because of the far-sighted parking policy.
Phew, it makes sense now !

It's a fair point. I'd love to see the view of things the government would take if you made an electric car that was powered and charged by an onboard petrol generator In reality its not any different to plugging the thing into the wall at night as most electricty is from dirty sources still.

What would happen if everyone went out and bought a Hybrid "Green" car?
How soon would the Government intruduce a Tax on them too?
The Government would lose Billions of pounds on Conjestion charges, as well as the fall in money produced in Fuel tax on Petrol/Diesel cars.
