Dab Radios

I can only recommend the Pure Evoke 1XT as it's the one I have, with the extra speaker. Fantastic system.
The Evoke is 2x the price of the "One" so should be better. I think the wood case would add to the sound quality too.

I've got DAB in the scoob, a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54, and it's brilliant.
But it does need a decent aerial in the car so I've been wary of the portables for use in the house. What sort of signal do you get with just the built in aerial? Do you have to jiggle it round the house and line it up just so on an outside window sill or does it just work all the time whenever you turn it on?

Well I've got the Pure "Bug too" on my bedside table. Never had problems with the signal (always max strength, and I never bothered telescoping the aerial at all). Chuck in usual DAB features, plus pause and rewind live radio, record radio from the EPG and MP3 playback if you fit an SD card, decent programming facilities and pretty reasonable sound quality (not as good as the nicer Evokes with extra speakers/stereo, but not as pricey either), and it's just a nice toy and a perfect alarm clock! . Personally much preferred it to the Chronos.

Went into Selfridges today and decided I couldnt really be arsed, too many models, too complicated, the missus and the shop bloke jabbering on so I just sacked it off.
i realised its the same old ****e they play on Fm, however we are buying something so that the government can turn of the FM signal, lus we are paying over the odds for it, perhaps an amnesty for old FM radios is in order where we get a free DAB one to replace it is in order.
Ignore me, am in a funny mood today !

just received a new Roberts R10 off Ebay for less that half price including postage and it is an outsanding radio, easy to use with stacks of different choices. It has got a particularly good tone too.

What's DAB doing worldwide? I've only ever heard about DAB in UK. If it's only for a limited market then the radio makers aren't going to keep developing new models for long are they?
US have something called XM satellite radio in their cars, what's that all about? Is that a VHS version of our Betamax DAB?
Shame if it is 'cos I love mine.
