not being funny, but isn't it about time other religions showed respect for us for a change?
read that a news reader wasn't allowed to wear a crucifix for fear of pissing off some band wagon jumping cleric or something, so why can't we voice an opinion?
really woke up on the wrong side of bed this morning!

Aye the fellas done nothing wrong. It's his request not an order... They can still say no.
Thankfully most muslims seem to see it that way but a certain percentage take offence . My feeling is, if they dont like it, flights from England to Pakistan leave from Manchester daily...

The small percentage taking offence are always the extremists looking to cause a ****storm over anything.... they provoke trouble by not being prepared to except any reality other than their twisted view of the world...
This is a attempt at a personal attack on Jack Straw over his rights to free speech and ultimately being able to criticise another stupid muslim practise!

He could always even the playing field and where a jilbab type of garment himself
I am sure some of our resident psychologists can confirm that a good percentage of understanding during a conversation is derived from body language and facial expression. Therefore conducting a conversation with someone hiding everything under clothing would give them an unfair advantage.

I suppose we should be thankful the religious head bangers in his constituency are even willing to talk to him at all.
Whenever I have had the misfortune of being amongst groups of these women in their balaclavas and stretched blouses in shops etc they are pud-pud-pudding away in 'tongues' and make no effort to speak English, let alone interact with normal people.
Then again, there are enough fat, ugly excuses for white women out there who would benefit from a stretched blouse and a silk bag over their heads so maybe the muslim women are doing us a favour.
I don't speak to fat mingers or muslims so I don't care either way.

Yet another storm in a teacup engendered by the PC Plonkers and the fanatics who will jump on any excuse to start whining.
His was quite a reasonable request under the circumstances and they did not have to remove the veils anyway.
Time we put a bomb under the PC Plonkers I think. That business over the crucifix and the joke about the Nips that that clergyman made in his magazine is way over the top and shows what this country is descending to under their malign influence.

I'd imagine the laws surrounds veils etc would soon change if everybody started wearing them. Imagine all them millions and millions spent on cctv for nothing. Crimewatch would be boring too

Mountain out of a molehill:
He said he asks cause of personal pref, but does not make it a condition of speaking to them, so they can wear if if they wish. Dont see what the problem is frankly.
