Exclamation Lost My Way With Snooker - Need Some Coaching...

I am a pretty decent snooker player, however for the last year or so I've been playing really ****

I play once a week in a local league, but tonight has been the final straw....I have just lost all confidence inmy ability to play the game

What I'm after is a coach for a few lessons. I don't want to spend mega bucks, and want it to be local to me (Harrogate, North Yorkshire)

I've done a quick search on the internet but no joy - can anyone help ?

Keep your head still, stick your **** out a little, keep your back straight, chin up, and remember to take the cub away slowly for the first 6 inches.

Check local snooker clubs for resident pro's. I ran a club years ago and although Virgo used it, a leading amateur used to give lessons/coaching for cheap.

Does your local club not have a resident professional? Theyre usually on hand to coach for about 10-15 dabs per hour...
Best thing to do though IMO is get down there on your own for a good few hours and practise when its quiet then get one of your mates from the league down for a friendly to help get your eye in.

More practice with better players than you will do the trick.

Play snooker once a week, like to think my game is fairly reasonable. The best tip Ive read on here is when drawing the cue back do it slowly, its really improved my long shot game. Potting more longer pots now, had a decent game last night and heading back down there tonight for more practice

its just like golf in the way you cant expect to play once a week and be consistant! you need to play at least 3 times a week even if its just an hour on your own, then your under no pressure and you can try a few different things out!

I agree with B9GLY, being a golf pro myself i know how it feels to have a dip in form but believe me it will come back

If you want to be playing consistently you have to practice, simple as that. In a game like snooker where a couple millimeters make the difference it's important to keep your focus and game sharp as i'm sure you know being a good player

like in golf if you don't practice it's always the little touch shots that require "feel" are the first to go but with patience and practice it will soon come back!

Wish you all the best matey, believe in your ability!

Gav..
