He's fuming they've postponed the next series because he fears that's the first step towards the BBC pulling the plug permanently. He's terrified they're going to axe it while he's stuck in hospital.
Only an idiot would think that the BBC might axe Top Gear, or so I am repeatedly told.
Good on ya Hamster. I've applied for tickets for all four scheduled shows and fully expect to receive them for at least one now that the BBC have longer any reasonable excuse.

Personally, I'd be surprised if they did axe it. Remember it generates a huge income, it's shown around the world, in places such as Oz and the US. Who can recall the uproar when Clarkson slagged off the Corvette for not being able to go round a corner?
Therefore it would be financially unsound for them to scrap the show
All IMO of course

The thing with Top Gear is that I know loads of people who have zero interest in cars, that absolutely love the show. I don't know of any other TV show that can draw an audience from people who don't even particuarly like the subject, and I believe this has only really been the case since Hammond and May have joined. In the old days of Quentin Wilson and Tiff Needell it was very focused on seriousness of cars....now it has some humour.
The BBC would be crazy to axe it....if they did, I'm sure another network would take them on

Hammond = top fella!....
also can you imagine how many people will tune in to watch the crash that hit the papers!not to be morbid but everyone i bet will be itching to watch it!..
they will be fools not to televise it plus with the consent of the directly involved they're shouldn't be a problem it will go down if nothing else to show the dangers of drag racing
long live hamster!

So Richard Hammond gets injured, there is talk of banning Top Gear (not sure how serious or possible this is), how is it that Horse riders get killed falling off yet the Horse of the year show never gets this threat ? any rider showjumping has the possibility of falling of and having the best part of a tonne of horsemeat landing on them, no airbags, roll bars or stability control, just a poxy helmet that doesnt look like it would be that much use.
