You can't blame the dogs, it's instinctive.

The owners are at fault here.

Hmm,dont think you can blame the owners 100%, its like, nutters, can you blame the parents ALL the time for them ??

If a dogs gonna do something like that, its gonna do it no matter who owns it,running about in a field etc, i dont think it was territorial at all, afterall, dogs are below us......

My mum has 2 big dogs, they step out of line, they soon learn not too,yet if its in them, i`ll soon know about it !!

I've owned dogs in the past too. I guess the argument is that the dog is the product of its upbringing, which is the responsibility of the owner (good news is that means you're not responsible if your puppy nibbles someone!).

Totally agree. A nuclear power plant is a safe place until you take your eye off the ball and let things get out of hand. I'm deeply saddened by the baby's loss of life and pity all the family and friends involved, but those who choose to keep 'dangerous dogs' have to expect the unexpected. What's also odd is that folk pay less attention to genetics and seek refuge in lines like, "my butch would never hurt anyone" because he behaves himself 99.9% of the time.

Harsh opinion I know.

Jonts.
