Does anyone actually want to own a Veyron?
Have just finished reading a road test of the Veyron, and it sounds as if it is the ultimate car, and will probably hold that mantle for many, many years.
If you were to be lucky / wealthy / crazy enough to own one, where do you go from there? What if you crash it? What do you replace it with?
Would owning a the ultimate car ruin every other car for you? And what would you dream of owning next?

I honestly couldn't imagine I could actually use the car. You could use it on public roads, but it's so leggy it would only coke up stuck in modern traffic. But if I was that rich I'd buy my own race track, however it's not exectly a track car either.
So maybe It would be ok to pose in, and take out on the occasional road trip to my Monaco summer residence. But other than that, I'm hard pushed for a need to own one. Maybe I'd have one for a few months just to say I "owned one" but then I'd swap it for well sorted Arnage T for long road trip use plus a Brabus/AMG CL55 or SL55 for round town, and a Koenigsegg or a Zonda for blatting round my private racetrack and occasional trip to the 'ring.
Oh, I forgot about the blacked out Range Rover so I can still do my drive by shootings, and RR sport for the missus's school run

What I actually mean is, would you want to own possibly "the ultimate car" as by definition any car you owned from then on would be inferior......

I understand how a Veryon is faster top speed than a McLaren F1 as it has a lot more power (don't know what the CDa is though), and how it's faster accelerating from a standstill as it has more power and 4WD but i don't get how it's faster accelerating in gear when the McLaren has a greater power to weight ratio? Anyone?

I saw one the other week on the M25 - It had Saudi plates. **** taking a million quids worth of car on the M25
It did look very nice in the flsh - much smaller than I imagined.
Any car that is built not for profit but for the techinical achievement has got to be applauded hasn't it?

There's a guy up the road from us with two of them- I was talking to him in Spar and he says he's bought one to sell on
The one he's keeping has the reg number B1, which has got to be worth about £250k.
He also has an SLR with a plate that looks like SLR, not sure exactly what it is.
I did think for a while that he must be in one of those car hire clubs, but the cars keep arriving and never seem to go back.... bloody marvellous or what!

Saw one a while ago driving between Amersham and Beaconsfield. Even my gf was blown away by it.
I would buy one if super rich, but it would be an addition to a large pool of cars. I would also not choose any of the revolting paint jobs I've seen them in so far.

One big Euro lottery win, and It'd be one of the first cars I'd order.
Right behind a 911 GT3 (In white) and a Lambo Gallardo (Blue or Black)
