I have just styed at the Premier Travel Lodge, Southwark, pretty cheap and in the centre of the South Bank, not a million miles from the Tower (just across the river and about half a mile walk. For a standard Travel Lodge type place it was really good, staff were helpful, rooms were very clean and reasonably spacious, dont stay in a Holiday Inn Express, especially not the one on old street, horrid.

Towerthistle is good and as close as you're going to get to Tower Bridge.

International Hotel in E14 - just a few DLR stops away

City Hotel at the bottom of Brick Lane

St Georges in Shoreditch but that is probably too far

You would think there would be plenty of room with all those skinny models.

You couldn't get closer than the Thistle. You literally walk off the bridge straight into the hotel Get the right room and nice views all along the thames.
