Default Immigartion Officer (Career change)?

The Immigration enforcement and removals department are currently recruiting people in my area as assistant immigration officers.

Im a bit fed up with my job at the moment and this sounds like a breath of fresh air. Only problem is its a fair wage cut as the start of 14k/year plus 12.5% shift pay.

Anyone in the Immigration service or know anything about them?

I have looked on google but fancy some inside information.

Scott

What's involved in assisting an immigration officer, then? And do you realise that £14k is only slightly in access of basic wage? Don't mean to be tight here, but it's a fookin' **** job, isn't it?

On that 14k/year you get an extra 12.5% shift allowence. On the advert in the paper it stated the wage was from 14.5k/year-16.6k/year plus 12.5 % shift allowence.

It seems an interesting job and its musch closer to home than my normal job (80 mile comute).

Scott, if you feel that the wage suffices your demands/ needs, go for it! You will save on travel rahter than, looking like a ponce on 20K who spends 10k on travelling like a fool!
Good luck.

Cant really tell you more as she tells us things but to be honest I thik she is trying to make it sound like she is jane bond. She does enjoy it though, especially when she sends people home

First, get yourself a blind eye then practice turning it.
Also make sure your maths is up to scratch e.g. for every 100 people coming in write 7 on the stats.
You shuold easily get the job.
