We did it in school, the most enjoyable one we did. Until they started dissecting it like they always did. My English classes ruined a number of good reads with all the analysis.
I always thought it would be cool to write a book that was read in school, appear on some literary chat show, have the host waffle about reflections on modern society and undertones of this and that and a sub text of whatever and just say to him "STFU, it's just a story!"

Richard and Judy

We used to get shown videos of authors being interviewed and they all ruined a good story.

Ive read it, enjoyable to read, the character is a bit mental and deluded, mabye we've all been there once in our life.

Never read it at school which is the reason i ordered it, along with "To Kill a Mocking Bird" (not read this yet)

or very nearly.

its like going to one of those con artists "pshycic readings" (are there any honest ones???) where you get fed fed a bunch of generalist nonsence and believe it be personal to you.
this book does exactly the same thing Everyone thinks everything is "phoney" when they are teenagers, and Everyone feels disillusioned and alone its the natural state of being for a teenager for ***** sake.

Save your money and buy anything by Conrad which is really good joined up writing
