Am trying to upgrade to Sky+ but just end up on hold no matter which number I call - rang as a new customer and got to speak to someone but they couldn't help so..... put on hold again.
What's the best way to get them to do something?
Am I right in thinking that if I ring to cancel they pay attention or would they go along with it?
Anyone know which number to call to cancel?
Thanks, a pee'd off Sky customer!

The programs are pretty appaling at the moment too. So sick of listening to the menu music I habitually mute it whilst in the menu.
A work mate said I should ring and cancel my whole account and they will give me movies for free or at a discount for a couple of months (heard other people doing this). Said I was going to freeview and they just said fine, your cancelled.
Not sure how the nipper is going to take no more Spongebob on demand

We threatened to cancel and they gave us the Sky+ box free and no extra monthly chanrge, stick to your guns!
otherwise it's 10 quid per month, or you pay a massive one off for the box

Sounds good - how long ago did you do this and do you have any premium packages (i.e. it's free if you have movies and sports, I think - we don't, I'm too tight )

Ring up ask for cancellations then explain how the signal is poor, box keeps crashing and you're getting cheesed off woth their service.
Box and free programs will follow.
A better course of action would be to cancel all together stating that Murdoch is a c*nt is the reason.
Then find you never needed sky in the first place.

They try to offer you multiroom (move the existing box into another room) for £10 per month and free box. we didn't want another room with it in (had digisender already). Don't go for the multiroom option unless you really need it, push for free box & no rental.
Took them ages to agree to it, we seriously were going to cancel unless they gave it us free anyway. They got loads of different departments offering various incentives to stay instead (half price for 3 months etc) but we said free box and no extra rental or bye bye
Were looking to buy a dvd recorder at the time instead but well happy with the Sky+,you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

Got really fed up trying to get through to the upgrade lines so went in as a new customer and asked to be put through to cancellations (their direct dial is 0870 850 2802). Explained how annoyed I was at their lack of respect of a current customer even though I'd been trying to get through for a Sky+ box. I was prepared to cancel if necessary.

Do you need to get it enabled at the Sky end ?

Correct dish alignment to get the maximum signal strength goes a long way to counter rain interference. Often the aerial erectors employed by Sky do not bother to do do a proper job on alignment.
