Remember the copper doing 159mph....?
Well after an appeal by the CPS, the High Court overturned the original decision and he is back in court for a FOUR DAY trial! I mean wtf can they talk about for FOUR DAYS! Watch the vid, sure. Say it may not have been that fast, ok. Hear about the condition of the car and the road, yep. But thats it! Jeez! His life history could fit in there!

as I recall his defence was that he was 'testing' the performance of the car, but as I also recall, it was pointed out that doing 91mph in a 30mph zone was not part of the police's test driving procedure.
off to jail you go young man... lets have a bit of equality for a change

That worm just won't stop wriggling
Maybe if he used his noggin and just kept it solely on the motorway (i.e M56 landing strip ) instead of blasting through 30mph limits at 91mph he might had a case to answer for.
It's not as if Telford is devoid of long empty dual carriageways, now is it?

He also claimed the speed recorded by the on-board camera was different to the actual speed of the car.

Sorry, but this tw*t should loose his job and go to the slammer. I used to live in shropshire, and if he wanted to "test" teh car, then there are enough runways etc that they could use, not to mention a (IIRC) a couple of tracks.

And how much time and tax payers money is going to be wasted on this ! Honestly think it would be unfair if he kept his job, lose job and his driving liscence in my book !

I don't think he should get locked up.
But all of his driving duties should be suspended indefinately or for at least 5 years, as well as a ban on his normal licence, and give him a desk position - like many coppers, he probably has an adrenalin fix problem. So he need to cool that off behind the desk and sort out all the paperwork and red tape modern coppers have to deal with, so the ones that do follow the law as well as uphold it can go ahead and do some more benficial work.
