Post Music mix CDs

Hello

Does anyone know what software is used for creating the mix CDs that are all over the shops all the time ???? I have tried a demo version of Mixmeister not got on with it. I found that it tries to be too clever and the pitch adjustment is not fine enough.

Thanks

Dave

Its not software - although there is software available to mix MP3's together using your PC

I DJ, therefore mix my own CD's & master them using software. I mix through various methods, CD's, Vinyl & more recently using the above MP3 software

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Hi there

Well i want to make my own mix CDs to listen to in the car, etc. I have done this many times with 1200s and more recently CDJ800s, but I have loads of MP3s now so i wanted to save time and effort burning them to CD.

Try virtual DJ, I'm finding it very easy to use

Failing that, why dont you burn a few disc's full of MP3's, then mix them on the CDJ's?

Mix cds in the shops are created one of several ways

1) Mixed 100% live (not so common anymore)
2) Mixed live in one or several takes, then edited/tidied up in Pro Tools
3) Mixed On Ableton Live (pro dj software)

Sounds like you need ableton- set the warp markers on the tracks, and it keeps them in sync. It is clever stuff- its the software that Sasha and Pete Tong now play out with.

Pretty boring compared to mixing it live IMHO, but whatever floats yer boat I guess. i'd just burn them and play from the CDJ's

wouldnt mind some decent software for this myself really. got loooooads of cd's/records with great songs on but a cd full of full length/un mixed tracks gets tiresome!

DJ mate of mine uses Stienburg (spelling?) recommends it highly!

I use virtual DJ and also have a Hercules DJ console. If you buy the DJ console you get Virtual DJ software with it.

I find it very easy to use and made lots of mix mp3's for the car etc..

Have spent most of the evening mucking about with the CDJs and have recorded a decent mix. Even got some accapellas out on the 1200s.....

One of me mates has a deck with a pair of CDJ1000s, pair of DVJ-X1s, Allen & Heath Xone mixer, Edirol visual mixer and iBook with Arkaos that I have played on quite a bit. Now theres a piece of kit !!!!! Anyone done any VJing aswell ?
