Where to buy Petrol from?
Hi all,
I am soon to start driving to work and back every day which is around 500miles per week.
Still sticking with my 1.4 unleaded car for now as it does around 40mpg, is comfy and cheap. (I am also flat broke).
I currently thinking of getting a Tesco clubcard, and earning points for something decentish every year. The pump price is cheap ish to.
However Asda offer 2p/litre is you use their credit card which I can not be arsed to do.
Any other suggestions or ideas?
Basically if I can get some goodies from burning the stuff I will be happy!!
Cheers.

I have found Shell the cheapest for me and I think they do a reward scheme but can't be arsed to join. I find that the local Tesco to me is 99.9 UL and the Shell garage I use on route is 94.9 UL. I do 600 miles per week.

I'm doing a 500 mile per week car commute at the moment. I've found that no-where is consistenty cheaper, you just have to keep your eyes open.
Also plan your route - my most efficient route fuel wise is actually slightly longer but is motorway almost all the way. If I keep at a steady 70 in 5th gear I save loads of petrol. I know it sounds dull and boring, but when your fuel bill is around £250 a month everything helps!
IIRC there is a website that's been posted on here before that lists the cheapest petrol stations within your town.
Good luck with the commute - I've been doing it for 9 months and I only have 14 days left - and counting.....

Use Shell, its not much dearer if at all and I find I get more to the Gallon from it, well over 30 from my Saab, get under on Tesco, might be coincidence or fluke but does seem to make a difference. Based on 60 miles daily.

Cheers for your help.
by the way is it actually that bad commuting? It is better than my other option 50 mins in my own car, down motorways and duel carriage ways OR 45 mins+ living in London using the tube, paying a fortune for rent. It is win win in my situation.
I will see what Tesco and Shell points have to offer!
Thanks- any more input welcome.

If I do the run outside the rush hour it takes me about 50 mins. Peak rush hour it's easily an hour and a half. Worst ever was 2 and a half hours. I loathe the rush hour and pointless queues so I leave home at 6:30am to get to work by 7:30am - 7:45am and don't bother leaving work until 6:30pm getting home 7:30pm - 7:45pm. Frankly life is too short to spend it all the in the car!
We move home in 3 weeks and I'll be 15 miles from the office. An easy 20 min train ride and pleasant walk through a rather lovely nature reserve.
