Default unwanted fax calls

I am already registered with TPS, but we still receive quite a few unwanted calls from fax machines...

is there anything you can do to stop them ?? it is really annoying when you have to run for the phone, trip over the dog, then finally answer it to find that it is a bloody fax machine !

cheers...

I wasn't suggesting there was any meaningful content in the fax, just set to auto redial on failed send and **** him off!!

We do that all the time, all our faxes are sent out automatically from a fax server so if there is a wrong number in the database it will call it a few times, but if no one sorts out the number problem next time around it will do the same thing to the wrong number.

I have, on occasions when been upset, accidentally put someones number in against a bought ledger account for which we automatically fax all our remittance adivces at 2am

Have a word with BT, they will tell you who is doing it, phone then and ask them to check their database, will just be a type somewhere I would wager.

Might moving the dog help?

We had some calls the other day from Three - despite being registered with the TPS. I told them that they could be fined for making calls - the agent said "but it's a promotional call". Well that's OK then

You say you're registered with TPS?

Do the same with FPS (Same number to register)

I've not had one in FOUR years.

That's a lot of trees saved

I'm in the opposite position, eight calls a day from India offering me a 50% discount on my line rental. If I'd have taken every one that offered it I'd have free calls, free rental and a visit from some Bagkok bird three times a day

Use a PC based fax retreival service.
It'll auto answer the calls and save them rather than spew out reams of useless waffle and waste paper.
Then at your leisure you can read / delete as appropriate.

Registered with TPS and FPS here and it has all but virtually stopped the calls.
