Telewest in another room....
What are the cheap options for me to get Telewest in the bedroom??
It's just off the lounge where the telewest box is if that makes a difference...?
Thanks

£15 a month for another box. got one at home.
or if you can link up to the main aerial for the tv you can run the telewest through a signal booster and connect both tvs to that.
did that for about a month then bought a box as i got fed up with changing the channels downstairs,

Hmmm, changing channels would be a PITA, though prob wouldnt use it often enough to justify £15 a month....
thinking the signal booster plan could be a go-er...
you can get boxes that carry remote signals to other rooms cant you?

You can get a wireless video sender, or with SKY at least you can use the spare RF out to connect to another TV and use a magic eye to send remote signals back to the box to change channel etc - obviously you have to watch the same channel on both TV's

The other way of doing it (which is quite tricky) is open up your current box and solder on small wires to each of the pins that connect on to the card.
Feed these wires to another box and solder them onto the same connections inside. You should then be able to watch two different channels at the same time.
I know its not a novice job but it would work. To get round opening the boxes you can buy the card recepticles from RS/Farnell etc. You would need to splice this on to two outputs and feed to them off to the two boxes. You would also need to buy the PCB boards that are the same fitment as the cards so you could just push them in like normal but they have terminals at the back to connect the incomming wires to.
Hope that makes sense!!

Kinda gives an example of what I mean about the cards with the connections coming off the back.

Sign up for the TV Drive in your lounge, you get installation for free if you keep your existing box and it's a fiver a month for the second box (the original one).
Maybe not the cheapest but at least it wouldn't be a bodge.

From my experience, I dont run a signal booster, just connect two tv's from telewest box. One from scart, one from RF out. No pic quality problems. Maybe if both were from RF I would get problems.
