Probably a bit early for XP drivers.

By far the biggest capture card company is Pinnacle (who bought Miro). After a quick look , they make no mention of XP drivers *yet*

http://www.pinnaclesys.de/uk/

PC World sell ADS Technologies' Pyro DV Capture card which is pretty cheap:
http://www.adstech.com/

Here you go: Windows XP support...
www.dazzle.com
Look at the 'DV Editor' product and 'DV Editor SE' products

yeh pinnacle looks good to me as well. Just need to work out wether I need the plus or not as my camcorder doesn't have DVin but my graphics card has SVHS out.

Let me know the best price you find!

GregH, the single firewire socket is 2 way.

With the right sw your PC can totally control your camcorder with the firewire connection.

Greg,

Take a look at www.lynxdv.co.uk. They can enable DVin on most camcorders. Check there compatability list.

cheapest I've found for the Studio DV from Pinnacle (that seems to support XP) is £77.55 inc VAT from dabs.com

Looks like my DV camcorder doesn't support DVin through any hacks.

So now need to work out if I really need the Studio DV+ package, as my graphic card has SVHS out on it.

GregH,

I had a mate with a Panasonic camcorder, and it only had a DV out on it. With the hack, the DV out turned into a DV in / out. You sure you can't do that with yours ?

Yep, checked a few web sites that do the hack, mine can't be hacked. Guess I bought into DV camcorders too early, the model after mine does it :^(

Yo be honest, DV in isn't that important on the camcorder anyway.

No, you do the editing on your PC.

I didn't realise you're putting it all back on the camcorder though. Thought you were gonna put it on the web or something.
