SKY HD - installation postponed
Now there's a surprise
Apparently they're having problems with suppliers, so my installation has been put back from the 23rd to the 29th.
They are, however, going to credit my account with pant-wettingly exciting sum of £20 for the inconvenience
Bunch of tawts

I'd advised everyone to do what I did, however and run the co-axial cables yourself, through the house: the Sky engineers will simply take the path of least resistance and string them round the outside of your house. You might end up with more signal loss than the LNB can cope with and the outside of your house looking like a circuit board!
PS - for anyone who's been struggling for ages trying to speak to a 'technician' at Sky to recommend an Octo LNB for fear of buying one that's incompatible, the Televes ones from CPC work and fit the Sky dish perfectly.

Got mine this morning I was one of the 1st 20 in the country to get it apparently.
Your not missing too much at the moment anyway, it will be good when everything gets up to speed Picture quality is good but its not the 'best thing since sliced bread' that some magazines and shows would like you to believe!!!

Mine works fine! As Rb5 says though it is not as HUGE step forward as I thought it would have been. I think the biggest increase in quality has been through ditching the Amstrad SKY+ box and getting a digital HDMI connection!

Dj - its not a telly problem, its a HYPE problem. Telly's a tidy 50" Sony K something or other. STILL get faint contouring and white clipping as per SD - but I'm not saying its the box/format just yet...
