Can anyone recommend the best credit card on the market at the moment ? I'm looking for one that obviously gives a very low interest charge for the first 6 months, plus a good balance transfer rate.
Wish it was for tarting up the car, but unfortunately it's for bleedin' kitchen appliances!
Cheers,
Daz

Cheers for the replies.
Unfortunately, I've already got the Egg, so I was looking for another with the same sort of offerings.
Are there any others ?
(This is from someone who swore blind that he'd never have a credit card until about a year ago!!)
Cheers,
Daz

Apparently, you can get blacklisted by the card companies for doing this. Not sure if its true but it wouldn't surprise me.
After a few years you could find that all your new applications are refused.

This is not meant to be a lecture of any kind, just a voice of experience.
Not one to sound to sensible, why not wait until you have either paid of enough of your egg card or save up for your kitchen appliances. That way you dont get yourself in pile of debt. I have a cahoot card (www.cahoot.com) that is for day to day use. And I also have another with about 5K on it for emergencies that my wife keeps in her posession (boiler going bang, hospital fee's(god forbid)). I learned the hard way with credit cards, at one point I must have had about 5 or 6 on the go at any one time with over 50% of my monthly salary being used just to keep the minimum payments going. It took me three years of hard work to get back to normal.
Dont do it, if you use up all of your lines of credit to buy comfort goods. When an emergency does arrive you end up in a sticky position which usually results in you desperatly trying to sell anything of value (usually your car/TV/HIFI/etc..)

Paul,
Cheers for the advise mate, I'm definitely not gonna get myself in a tricky situation with credit cards that's for sure - I'm far too cautious and resentful about handing too much cash to Banks etc.. to let them pull me into their traps.
I just need to put a couple of items on there and pay it off over the next couple of months instead of one lump sum.
...Or are these the words of a typical credit card junkie ???

also try calling the card co. when the 0% is about to run out- they will often give u an extension to stay with them.
i had 12 months with my last 3 cards, at one point i had 2 with £15k limit each for 9 months- very cheap credit!!!
