Left me bag on the train, what next..
Story is in a rush to geta connecting train I left me work bag on the train. Got a few nice things in it like a laptop, PSP etc.
Worst thing is that my keys [and address ] were in their too.
Not sure that I'm insured, any one with some fine ideas.
Roo
PS have contacted the train company and they had some one search the train when it arrived, no joy.

Bad luck fella. Hopefully someone decent will hand it all in - it does happen!
I've left a camera on a sailing boat in Australia and dropped a phone on the piste in Switzerland before and both items found their way back to me within a couple of weeks!

Tell that to the theiving ******* who had my dive log book away. It's not like it's worth anything at all and if they used the cert cards to go diving I hope they ******* drowned.

Might be worth phoning the stations the train stopped at in case someone took it off the train and handed it in there instead.
Do you work for the government? If you do, then the laptop is probably in the hands of The Sun so they can do an exclusive scoop on sensitive documents being left on a train

Hope it gets returned- only in this country i very much doubt it.
A couple of years ago I was visiting a friend who was at uni in paris. We were on our way to an oasis concert (cancelled) and he left his wallet on the metro train that night.
Went back to his flat, cancelled all his cards etc and resigned himself to having lost it.
Next morning, get a phone call from some french guy- he had found it on the train, and used the uni ID card inside to track him down. Met up with him that lunchtime- not a single centime or franc missing from inside- and the guy point blank refused any cash for its safe return- just asking for a hand shake and promise he would look after it from now on! We were amazed!

Cheers
Gutted, never done it before and have only been working in the smoke for a couple of months....bah.
Didn't phone the station but someone else who got the conductor [or whatever they're called] to phone me back.
We'll see tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Keep trying I have done this twice (divvy I know) and both times I have got my case back.
Two months ago I left my bag on the train. Phoned the station at the end of the line and they said it could not be found.
Checked at lost property who said it would not be sent in for at least three days if it was found at any station.
A week later got a call to say it was in lost property can I collect it.
You may be lucky, maybe not, but the train companies' lost property dealing is a bit like the twilight zone.
Best of luck.
Oh, and the other time - they found it as the train had not even got to the next station and I went to collect it.

I hope you get lucky and get the bag returned, but these it has to be regarded as unlikely. Such a find is more likely to be considered as a windfall with no thought for the original owner.

You Brits whine about everything don't you? Twice my son left his gym bag on the train out of Lisbon, neither time was it ever found. Contents - used shorts and T-shirt, and a £20 pair of trainers. What kind of loser nicks that?
Fuzz - if al-Queda mount another submarine attack on a US warship, don't answer any strange knocks at the door or you won't see your family for 3 yrs

Update:
Got me bag back, at Waterloo lost property. All's well until I check the contents and see that the PSP is missing . Nice to have the bag back but the person [this is speculation of course] who handed it in is ultimately a thief regardless.
Roo [not as happy as he should be]

Only a shrink could think of that - nice one! Nicks his PSP to get him concerned about it and distract his attention from the fact that they've copied his keys!
